Upload documents (knowledge)

What this is: How to give the AI your own documents (brand guidelines, research, product docs) so it can pull from and cite them while writing.

Prerequisite: Documents are optional but powerful. Upload them any time you want the AI to work from your source material instead of general knowledge.

Upload a document

1. Go to Settings → Documents.
2. Click Upload document.
3. Choose a file. Supported types: PDF, DOCX/DOC, TXT, PPTX, or CSV.

Good things to upload: brand guidelines, research reports, and product documentation.

Watch the status

After upload, each document moves through two states:

• Pending: the platform is processing it.
• Processed: it's ready, and shows a chunk count.

Tip: Wait until a document reads Processed before you rely on it. Only then can the AI pull from and cite it.

Why it matters

Once processed, the AI can pull from and cite your documents while writing, so drafts reflect your real brand guidance and research, not just what it finds on the open web.
