Coverage & gaps

Search all guides

What this is: Two tabs that show how completely your content covers your topics: Coverage maps what you have, and Gaps turns what's missing into content ideas.

Prerequisite: You need your topic clusters and keywords set up first, plus a crawled site so the platform knows what content exists. See Keywords & clusters and Crawl your site.

Read the coverage matrix

The Coverage tab shows a matrix of your topic clusters against funnel stage and intent. Each cell is rated:

This gives you an at-a-glance view of where your content is thin and where it's solid.

Click Recompute coverage to refresh the matrix after you've crawled new pages or added content.

Turn gaps into ideas

The Gaps tab lists missing content, ranked by severity:

Each gap also shows its gap type. To act on one:

  1. Find a gap worth filling (start with critical and high).
  2. Click Generate idea.
  3. The gap is sent to ideation and starts a brief you can develop.

The improvement loop

Coverage and gaps work as a cycle:

  1. Publish content to fill a gap.
  2. Recompute coverage so the matrix reflects the new page.
  3. Gaps shrink: and the next-highest-priority gaps rise to the top.
Tip: Run this loop regularly. As you publish, your coverage strengthens and the remaining gaps get smaller and more targeted.

Once ideas become published pages, track their impact in Performance.
