Connect Google Analytics 4

Search all guides

What this is: How to connect Google Analytics 4 (GA4) so the platform can read engagement and mid-funnel signals from your site.

Prerequisite: GA4 is optional. Connect it when you want richer engagement data beyond search. It isn't required to publish or to use the Website overview area.

Connect

  1. Go to Settings → Integrations.
  2. Click Connect Google Account.
  3. Authorize when Google asks. Access is read-only. The platform only reads your analytics; it never changes anything.
  4. Return to the app.

Pick your property

  1. Pick an account.
  2. Pick a property.
  3. Click Save property.

Manage the connection

If the connection expires

Google can revoke access on its own, usually when someone removes the app under Google Account → Security → Your connections to third-party apps, or after a long stretch of inactivity.

The card then shows Reconnect required and says that Pulse has stopped collecting mid-funnel metrics. Click Reconnect Google Account and authorize again, then pick your property from the dropdown and hit Save property. Authorizing gives the platform a fresh connection, so the property has to be selected once more.

Tip: Pairing GA4 with Google Search Console gives the platform both sides of the picture: how people find you (search) and what they do once they arrive (engagement).
