What this is: A guided assistant that lives inside chat. It reads your website, drafts your brand setup with you one piece at a time, and keeps a running checklist of everything still to do, ending with your first content plan.
When you'd use it: On a brand-new workspace, before you start creating content. It covers the same settings you'd otherwise fill in by hand, but as a conversation.
When you log into a fresh workspace you land in Chats and see a Welcome, let's set up your brand card. Click Start onboarding and the assistant opens in its own chat thread.
If you'd rather set things up yourself, click Skip for now. See Onboarding: what to set up first for the manual route. Skipping is not permanent; the pinned Onboarding entry stays in the left sidebar so you can pick it up whenever you want.
Tip: Onboarding always uses the same single chat thread. Close the tab, come back tomorrow, and the Onboarding entry in the sidebar reopens exactly where you left off. It shows your progress as a count, e.g. 4/14.
Once the flow starts, a checklist opens in the right-hand pane with every setup step and a complete count at the top. Steps tick off automatically as things get saved; you never mark them yourself.
There are two kinds of step, and they behave differently when you click them:
Each step also shows a short why line so you can judge what's worth doing now versus later.
Gotcha: Settings steps open a different page. Use your browser's back button, or the sidebar Onboarding entry, to return to the conversation. Your place in the flow is kept.
The assistant works in two passes.
Brand first. If your workspace has a website URL, the assistant reads your site and proposes a draft for each brand entity: a tone-of-voice summary, your positioning, who you sell to, and so on. You review each draft in the chat, ask for changes in plain language ("more direct", "we don't sell to enterprise"), and confirm when it's right. Only then is it saved to your Settings. Nothing is written without your say-so.
Then your content plan. Once the brand steps are done, the assistant moves on to topic clusters, keywords, and a first 90-day content plan built from them.
Tip: Everything the assistant saves lands in the same place as if you'd typed it into Settings yourself. You can open Settings → Brand Voice at any point to see or edit it, and anything you set up manually beforehand is read and built on, not overwritten.
When you're done, click Finish onboarding at the bottom of the checklist and confirm. This closes the flow and returns you to a normal chat.
You don't have to complete every step first. The integration and SEO steps can be left for later, and the assistant will tell you which ones are still worth doing. Finishing removes the pinned Onboarding entry from the sidebar.
Changed your mind? Go to Settings → General and click Reopen next to Brand onboarding to return to the same thread.
