What this is: A short checklist of what to set up before you start creating content, in the order that gets you good results fastest.
When you sign up and log in, you land in Chats with an offer to walk you through setup. You can take that guided flow, set your brand up yourself in Settings, or simply ask the chat to do it for you; nothing is forced. Either way, the goal is the same: give the AI enough about your brand and your market that it can write like you, not like a generic robot.
Tip: Everything the AI produces is steered by your brand setup and your SEO data. Thin setup means generic output. This is the single highest-leverage thing you can do. Spend the time here and every draft afterward gets better.
Three ways to set up
You can mix and match these: run the guided flow, do some in Settings, ask chat for the rest.
- Let the guided assistant walk you through it. Click Start onboarding on the welcome card in Chats. It reads your website, drafts each brand entity with you, and tracks what's left on a checklist. This is the fastest route from empty workspace to first content plan. See Guided onboarding.
- Fill it in yourself in Settings. Open Settings, work through the Brand sections, and save each one. See Set up your brand for a field-by-field walkthrough.
- Ask the chat to do it. The chat agents can read and write every brand field. Say things like "add a persona for RevOps leaders" or "make our tone more direct," and the agent updates the same settings for you. See Chat vs. the pipeline.
Tip: These all write to the same place, so they compose. Anything you set up by hand is read and built on by the guided assistant rather than overwritten.
The setup checklist
Must-have (do these first; output quality depends on them)
- [ ] Brand Voice: your tone and how you write.
- [ ] At least one ICP: the type of company you sell to.
- [ ] At least one Persona: the person who reads and buys.
- [ ] Positioning: your category, what makes you different, and stats the AI is allowed to cite.
- [ ] At least one Offering: what you sell.
Start here: Set up your brand.
Nice-to-have (add these when you're ready)
- [ ] Competitors: informs how the AI differentiates you.
- [ ] Brand Profiles: your social URLs, used for monitoring.
- [ ] Content Humanization tuning: guardrails that keep writing from sounding robotic.
- [ ] Visual identity: your look and feel.
Recommended order
- Brand: voice, ICPs, personas, positioning, offerings. See Set up your brand.
- Integrations: connect a CMS, Google Search Console, and optionally GA4. See Integrations overview.
- SEO data: add your keywords and clusters, and crawl your site. See Keywords & clusters.
Gotcha: You can create content before finishing every step, but drafts written on thin brand setup read generic. Get the must-have list done before you lean on the AI for real work.
